Workshop on Digital Currency: Applications and Innovation

May 10, 2022 – The Workshop on Digital Currency: Applications and Innovation hosted by Soochow University was held online. Operational managers from the Bank of Communications (Suzhou), faculty and staff from Dongwu Business School, Office of Digitalization and Information Technology Management, Office of Finance & Accounting, Soochow University participated in the workshop. The workshop was hosted by Prof. Bo FENG, Dean of Dongwu Business School.

First, Mr. Xukuan YANG, Vice General Manager of Personal Banking, Bank of Communications (Suzhou), introduced the operational issues and opportunities of adopting digital RMB.

Second, Mr. Ping HUANG, Deputy Director of the Office of Digitalization and Information Technology Management, Soochow University, presented the application scenarios and usage contexts of digital RMB on campus.

Third, Ms. Caiping JIANG, Chief Officer of the Accounting Department, Office of Finance & Accounting, provided a briefing on the bookkeeping and managerial implications of digital RMB from the accounting perspective.

During the discussion section, faculty in the areas of Finance, Operations Management, and Business Analytics at Dongwu Business School, including Prof. Guangzhi SHANG (the Jim Moran Associate Professor of Business Administration at Florida State University’s College of Business and part-time professor at Dongwu Business School), discussed directions for industry collaboration and future research. Finally, Prof. Bo FENG expressed her gratitude to the participating organizations for their strong support, gave her opinions and suggestions on the follow-up research collaboration.
