Virtual Cooperation Meetings Held with Internationally Renowned Universities

To implement the internationalization strategy of the Business School of Soochow University, promote academic resource sharing and the advancement of educational internationalization, and enhance the internationalization of talent cultivation, cooperation meetings with several internationally renowned universities were recently held.


On the afternoon of January 8, a virtual cooperation meeting was held between the Business School of Soochow University and Uppsala University. Dr. Simon Okwir from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Uppsala University and researcher Wentong Daisy Cai participated in the meeting. Tao Xu, Vice Dean of the Business School of Soochow University, as well as Xizhe Jiang, the Secretary of Graduate Affairs,and Ni Shu,the Secretary of International Affairs, attended online. After briefly introducing the current development of each school, both parties reached preliminary agreements on areas such as doctoral student exchanges and joint training programs.


On the evening of January 15, a virtual cooperation meeting was held between the Business School of Soochow University and the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University. Francis Petit, Vice Dean of the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University, and Chris Gao, Director for Greater China at Fordham University, participated in the meeting. Tao Xu, Vice Dean of the Business School of Soochow University, as well as Ni Shu,the Secretary of International Affairs, attended the meeting online. The meeting focused on in-depth discussions regarding the proposed 1+1 international’s master degree program. Both parties reached preliminary agreements on key details such as collaborative programs, course alignment, credit exemptions, language requirements, and application timelines. The next step will involve drafting a formal cooperation agreement. Previously, Soochow University and Fordham University had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).


On the afternoon of January 20, a virtual cooperation meeting was held between the Business School of Soochow Universityandthe Management School of Lancaster University. Professor Marwan Izzeldin, Associate Professor Jiwei Zheng, Dr. Yuting Bai and Ms. Claire Astle, the Global Experience and Partnerships Manager,participated on behalf of the Management School of Lancaster University. Tao Xu, Vice Dean of the Business School of Soochow University, as well as Ni Shu,the Secretary of International Affairs, attended online. In a friendly atmosphere, both parties expressed strong cooperation intentions and agreed on plans for various types of degree programs at the undergraduate and master’s levels. They also scheduled an in-person meeting in April to further discuss the details of the cooperation.
