Students of the Business School Won the Grand Prize of National Competition in the 11th National Academic Creativity Competition on Energy Economy for College Students

From 24th to 25th May, 2025, the grand final of the 11th National University Students' Academic Creativity Competition on Energy Economy, sponsored by the China Society of Preferential Methods, Integration Methods and Economic Mathematics, was held in Shanxi University of Finance and Economics and came to a successful end. In this competition, our student Jiang Yuchen won the Grand Prize of Graduate Student Group in the National Finals with his work ‘Determination of Energy Efficiency Based on Machine Learning and Efficiency Assessment Methods’. The instructor, Professor Sun Gassen, won the ‘Excellent Instructor Award’.

The National College Students' Energy Economy Academic Creativity Competition is a national competition sponsored by China Society for Preferential Method, Integration Method and Economic Mathematics, and implemented by Low Carbon Development and Management Professional Committee of China Society for ‘Double Methods’ Research, which was formally entered into the ‘Catalogue of Competitions for College Students of National Ordinary Colleges and Universities’ issued by China Society of Higher Education in March 2023, according to the statistics of the organising committee of this competition. According to the statistics of the organising committee of the competition, this year's event attracted a total of 724 colleges and universities and 31,388 teams, with more than 82,000 participating students and 33,000 instructors. The tournament adopts a three-level selection mechanism of school competitions, regional competitions and national finals. After strict screening, a total of 1,613 excellent works were recommended by 26 regions to be shortlisted for the national finals, and 34 special prizes and 80 first prizes for undergraduates and 21 special prizes and 53 first prizes for postgraduates were finally selected.
