On the afternoon of 16th May, the 50th anniversary of the graduation of finance class alumni of the former Suzhou Finance and Economics School was successfully held in 317 of the Finance and Economics Hall. Alumni from Suzhou, Shanghai, Wuxi, Nantong and other places reunited at the Business School of Soochow University to relive the friendship of former classmates. Liu Zhiming, Secretary of Party Committee, and Hu Yong, Director of General Office of the College, accompanied the reception on behalf of the Business School.

Liu Zhiming expressed his warm welcome to the alumni and briefly introduced the development history of the Department of Finance of Soochow University since the incorporation of Suzhou Finance and Economics School into Soochow University in 1982, and the flourishing development of the School of Business in the context of the new era, which is not only a vivid portrayal of the rapid economic and social development, but also a close relationship with the consistent support and care of all alumni for the School of Business. This journey is not only a vivid reflection of the rapid economic and social development, but also inseparable from the alumni's consistent support for the alma mater.

At the meeting, alumni representatives expressed their gratitude to the college for attaching great importance to and supporting this homecoming activity. Afterwards, alumni from Suzhou, Shanghai, Wuxi, Nantong and other places spoke one after another, their words were full of emotions about reunion after many years of absence. They recalled their youthful years of study in the School of Finance, lamented the changes in their lives from being in the prime of life to having their temples coloured with frost, and could not hide their joy and excitement at being together again.

After the meeting, the alumni retraced their steps along the boulevard and recalled the youthful years of the past. After fifty years of wind and rain, they are still alumni; the waves of the new era are surging, and the hearts of the children will always go to the alma mater. This half-century reunion is not only an affectionate recollection of the great years, but also a vivid footnote of the intergenerational inheritance of the spirit of SUU Business School.
