Summer lingers, autumn's touch begins to show. On the afternoon of August 23rd, the External Relations Department of the MBA Association at Soochow University organized an immersive visit for over 30 students from the 2023 to 2025 cohorts to Haiwang Medical Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., a cutting-edge medical technology enterprise. The event, themed “Insight into Medical Frontiers · Integrating Industry Practice,” offered a comprehensive exploration of the company's operations. Through on-site observation, executive dialogues, and roundtable discussions, participants gained deep insights into the innovative operations and digital transformation strategies of medical device enterprises, further solidifying their interdisciplinary perspective on “business + technology.”

On the eve of the event, Nan Zhenkun, Sales Director of Haiwang Medical Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. and a current MBA student in the Class of 2024 at Soochow University, shared materials including the company profile, product portfolio, and cultural philosophy in the visit group chat. This helped students establish a cognitive framework in advance, enabling them to approach the company with specific questions and achieve meaningful insights from the visit. This fully embodies the MBA program's educational philosophy of “integrating knowledge with action.”

As a key component of Kosel's enterprise platform strategy, Haiwang Medical was established in early 2022. Rooted in the Jiangsu Medical Device Industrial Park within Suzhou Hi-Tech Zone, the company operates production bases in Nantong and Shenzhen. Its total facility spans over 5,000 square meters, with cleanroom areas exceeding 3,000 square meters. Haiwang Medical specializes in the development and production of medical polymer materials, dedicated to providing tubing and catheter system solutions for interventional medical device clients. It aspires to become a global leader and comprehensive partner in its specialized field.

That afternoon, students gathered at Haiwang Medical for an in-depth tour. Company executives and staff warmly welcomed them, guiding the group through three major divisions: Kosel Medical (peripheral intervention), Haiwang Medical (core raw materials), and Misin Medical (coronary intervention). The immersive experience allowed students to witness firsthand the dynamic force driving innovation and high-quality development.

On the production floor, the efficient coordination of intelligent assembly lines, the invention patents displayed on the corporate honor wall, the meticulous cleanliness of the workshop, and the core innovative products showcased in the exhibition hall sparked lively discussions among the students. The responsible personnel patiently explained the company's operational model from material R&D to precision manufacturing, revealing how Haiwang Medical tackles industry pain points with cutting-edge technology. Throughout the tour, students listened attentively and asked questions, gaining an intuitive and profound understanding of the company's high-standard production processes, quality control, and R&D capabilities.

During the discussion session, Director Nan Zhenkun delivered a presentation titled “Strategic Positioning and Core Competitiveness of Platform-Based Medical Device Enterprises.” He began by explaining the origin of the ‘Koser’ brand name and the company's cultural philosophy of “Letting Love Travel Through the Heart.” He emphasized the talent philosophy of “integrity first, virtue and competence combined,” as well as the management philosophy of “team-first, unleashing synergistic effects where 1+1>2 or even >3.”

Students were particularly moved by the story of Koser Medical's eight-year journey to develop China's first innovative product—the umbrella-shaped vena cava filter. They also gained insight into the company's strategic foresight through its platform-based approach and university-industry collaboration models with institutions like Sichuan University, witnessing the medical enterprise's commitment to long-termism, integrated innovation, and pragmatic development.

In the future, the External Relations Department of the MBA Association at Soochow University will continue to collaborate with outstanding enterprises and alumni resources to provide students with opportunities to engage with frontline operations, interact with executives, and gain industry insights through company visits. We look forward to welcoming more of you who are eager to explore on our next corporate tour!
