On October 4, 2025, the 20th Xuan Zang Trail Gobi Challenge (Gobi 20) concluded successfully in Guazhou, Gansu Province. The Suzhou University Business School G20 team demonstrated tenacious team spirit, completing the 121-kilometer extreme journey. They earned the “Shackleton Award,” symbolizing the highest honor for teamwork, and the “Progress Award,” recognizing their inspiring drive. The team was also honored as a “Public Welfare Action-Oriented Institution.” Additionally, the public welfare project “Star Wish Together—Social Reintegration Program for Children with Autism” was honored with the third prize in the event's public welfare evaluation, showcasing Suzhou University's commitment to balancing athletic competition with social responsibility.

Over four days and three nights, the Suzhou University team traversed the Gobi Desert, barren wastelands, and sand dunes, confronting extreme temperature swings and complex terrain. Embracing the motto “Never abandon, never give up,” every member reached the finish line, embodying the core spirit of the Shackleton Award: “Vision, Action, Perseverance, and Transcendence.” During the event, Team A members charged ahead as the vanguard, while Teams B and C provided full logistical support. The team leader and support staff worked in concert to ensure the entire team's successful completion of the challenge.

The “Star Wish Journey” project, spearheaded by the Gobi Friendship Association team from the School of Business at Soochow University and initiated by Professor Bao Jie, a member of the Gobi 20 expedition, leverages the Gobi Spirit and research findings on exercise intervention to provide scientific rehabilitation support for 120 children with autism, fostering family and social integration. This initiative stood out among numerous philanthropic practices, earning the third prize in the “Education Development” category and successfully transforming academic achievements into social services.

The Suzhou University Business School Gobi 20 Team etched a mark of unity in the Gobi Desert through passion and sweat, embodying the university motto: “Cultivate the righteous spirit of heaven and earth; emulate the perfection of ancient and modern sages.” This outstanding achievement not only brings honor to the university but also inspires more people to carry forward the spirit of Xuanzang, embracing challenges and dedicating themselves to charitable causes.
