On the evening of October 15, the second installment of Soochow University's 2025 “Dean's Dialogue” series was successfully held at the Finance and Economics Science Building on the East Campus. The event featured Cui Qingjun, a 2008 alumnus of Soochow University and Party Secretary and Chairman of Suzhou Bank Co., Ltd., who returned to his alma mater to share his growth journey and discuss future prospects with faculty and students. President Zhang Qiao, Vice President and Deputy Party Secretary Shen Mingrong, Dean of the School of Business Feng Bo, Executive Dean of the School of Business Deng Tianhu, along with relevant leaders from Suzhou Bank Co., Ltd. and heads of related functional departments within the university, attended the event. Student representatives from various schools and departments gathered to listen to the alumni's experiences and discuss career planning. The event was hosted by Dai Xinyan, Chairperson of the “Entrepreneurs Community” student club under the Sogang University Innovation and Entrepreneurship College and an undergraduate student from the School of Business.

In his address, President Zhang Qiao extended heartfelt gratitude to Suzhou Bank for its longstanding care and support of the university. He warmly welcomed alumnus Cui Qingjun back to his alma mater to share his valuable insights with current students. President Zhang emphasized that alumni's rich experiences empower the growth of Soochow University students. He noted that the students' enthusiasm and proactive engagement with their futures transformed this cross-campus exchange into a dynamic collision of ideas and a source of inspiration.

Returning to his alma mater, alumnus Cui Qingjun could not contain his excitement. He began by introducing the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economics, discussing how “economics itself is the fusion of humanities and technology,” and inspiring everyone to reflect on the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence brings to human society. Drawing on his professional expertise and practical experience in the financial sector, he shared insights on commercial banking business models and industrial development in the Suzhou region. He also introduced Suzhou Bank's development positioning of “Science and Technology Innovation + Cross-Border” and “People's Livelihood + Wealth,” along with its service philosophy of “Suzhou Heart, Your Comfort.” A video presentation vividly showcased Suzhou Bank's fifteen-year journey. Concluding his address, alumnus Cui Qingjun encouraged younger students with the maxim “Read ten thousand books, travel ten thousand miles,” urging them to holistically plan their development across six dimensions: character, ambition, capability, collaboration, leadership, and health.

During the interactive session, students actively posed questions and engaged in discussions with alumnus Cui Qingjun on topics such as career choices and entrepreneurial opportunities, as well as academic competitiveness.

To better harness the strength of our alumni and establish a broad platform for exchange, Vice President Shen Mingrong presented Cui Qingjun with an appointment letter as “Suzhou University Career and Entrepreneurship Mentor” on behalf of the university. We sincerely thank our alumni for their enduring commitment to our alma mater and their invaluable contributions to nurturing the next generation.
